Subject: RE: Riley UpdateJanet,
Riley is doing great. I stopped soaking his pellets and he has slowed a little but still finishes them off by the end of the day. Honestly at the end of the day he has cleaned out all 3 of his bowls and is usually bobbing his head for more. He is very sweet and cuddly especially when I first get home and round 5 or 6pm when Ryan is exercising in his room. That is when he is most vocal.
I went out of town over night this week and Ryan took care of Riley. He said that Riley was silent and did not eat nearly as much. When I got back yesterday he pigged out and was very vocal. Guess I just bring out his voice and appetite. He was very cuddly when I came back too, I thought he might be upset with me but he just sat and let me love on him.
By the way you can post anything I send to you on your website or just put the parts you want to share together. I plan to post a few videos and pics of him on my face book, feel free to share those too if you want. I know you work hard on taking such good care of your babies so anything I share about him feel free to use to help advertise how good you are. You can also use me as a reference if you need to.

! I wanted to tell ya..This little buddy is spoiled and BELIEVE this!! He is trying to talk ..OMG!! He is really smart and wants me to hold and cuddle him. .I think you have a gr8 breeder couple there.( his parents) He is a real winner and will put that on your page tonite..Thanks, Diane
Hey!
I just wanted to let you know that Riley is doing great. He slept some of the way home and took a nap when we first got home. It was a long trip for him and traffic was bad so I know he was worn out.
After that though he started moving and climbing his cage, he only fell once and I caught him. He is fearless though and just got right up and tried again. He already played with two of his toys by himself without my help. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast he was ready to explore. He keeps bobbing his head like he is hungry but he has not discovered his food dish yet so I offered him some fresh fruit out of my hand.
Girl, he tried and liked everything I gave him. I don't know if he was just starving from not eating for 3 hours or if he just loves food like I do but he chowed down on plums, pears, banana, grapes and fuji apples. We keep a lot of fruit in the house because Ryan brings that for lunch so he got to try a little of everything and there was not one that he said no to. He takes soft bites so he didn't eat a lot but at least got a good taste of each fruit. He is smart too because the first piece of fruit I gave him he dropped and after that he backed up and put the food on his perch and held it in place while he ate it. I was impressed.
The hardest part of having him is leaving him alone. I put a radio on low for him and shut his door so he can have some peace but every part of me wants to go play with him. For now I am holding myself together so that I don't overdue and then he get upset when we fall into our normal routine like you advised. He is very quiet in his cage right now, I am anxious to see once he is comfortable what kinds of noises he is going to make.
I will keep you updated on our progress. I want to thank you too for doing such a wonderful job socializing and teaching these birds. I can't believe how well adjusted he is on his first day. I figured he would be shy and scared until he got used to his new surroundings but he is ready to explore and to me that says a lot about how he was raised. It's obvious you love to do this and I am grateful, it was worth driving 2 hours for a good breeder.

Just wanted to give you a follow up on Pepper, the green cheek conure I purchased. My wife who liked animals but would not touch much less let one get on her has done a complete 180. She holds and kisses this bird all day and walks around the house with Pepper on her shoulder. What a sweet bird. WOW!!
Hi Laura,
I would be happy to share info with you on Fe'Fe' our new baby Quaker....
We have a beautiful baby Quaker we purchased from Janet. She is so tame & sweet. She is a loving sweet baby & loves to give kisses & crawls all over us. We both are bonded to her already. She is becoming acclimated to us & our home. She is not a squawker & is trying to mimic/talk already. Fe'Fe' was born Aug 18th 2009. She eats very well & is very active in/out of her cage. She is not a screamer at all so FAR!!!!. She loves to be out of her cage with us but when she is tired she lets us know. At approx 7:30pm we cover her so she gets proper sleep time 8 to 10hrs being a baby. After we cover her cage she goes right into her bed & we never hear her for the rest of the night. We purchased her a fuzzy cuddly bed that hangs from the top of the cage, she loves it. It is like a nest for her. She feels safe up in her nest. We put extra wood bars all around for her to climb to get up & down. She is only a few weeks old & we work with her daily on different commands. We are trying to work/train her now so she does not pick up bad habits. When she does something we don't like we say no & she stops... It is like training a new born... So Sweet......There is a website that I think you would enjoy reading about, I did.... Very informative. We change her toys weekly so she does not get bored. We also bought a bath that clips on the outside for her to splash in...It has a clear plastic cover so we can watch her. So Cute. She Loves it.....She goes right to new things to ck them out... tooo cute.... we just love her & was so happy to get her..... I hope this will help you.... email me anytime & good luck on your decision. www.quakerparots.com-onlinequide They are many websites to read about quaker parrots - their behavior, heath & diet...... Janet is a very sweet lady & loves her babies & it showed with our new Fe' Fe'..... We are so happy!...... I will look forward one day to meeting Janet....
Later Gator

She's so soft, lol. The older kids think she should have been named cotton. Her and Bongo (pictured above) will eventually get along i guess he's used to being the spoiled little bird. But he (Bongo) says Pretty Bird everynight when ever his cage gets covered. Its so funny and he's only 3 months old. Its just too cute.I will keep you up dated on how they are doing.

This is my first hand raised parrot and I am absolutely amazed on how affectionate and sweet this bird is. I should have done this years ago.
Thanks Andy
This is why I do what I do. Can I post your email on my website This is why we are going to stay small. I get a lot of feedback just like the one you just gave me. I was a little worried yesterday so thank you so much letting me know.
Janet, yes I do not mind at all If you post my mail on your site. As I am typing this Pepper is sitting on hand, he has to be a part of ever thing I do.

Hi,I just wanted to let you know how much we are enjoying Chica, our YSGC Conure. We absolutely adore her and she's the perfect addition to our family. She is the sweetest little thing and LOVES to cuddle. We have her spoiled rotten. She loves climbing up on my shoulder and cuddling in my hair and nibbling on my earrings. She plays with them like toys. This may sound silly but she loves to rock. Between 9:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., her and I sit in my rocker and she cuddles up in my hand and goes to sleep. I have attached a picture of her sleeping in my hand. I have also attached a few of pictures of her with the babies. I'm so glad I found you. Thank you so much!!!!!Michelle Jean
Yes mam that's fine. We are really enjoying her already! Such a sweet and interactive baby!
JB :)Thank you so much for your nice email..
Will it be OK if I put your letter on my website?
I already put the picture on my website.
I am so glad you are happy with the baby bird.

Comments : Hi Mrs Janet-
We our ride and arrival home with Peri went very well. She/he is now eating (again) and is settling in right next to a window in the family room. We have played, climbed, explored and already she is trying to imitate me nodding my head! There has been chirping off and on this afternoon already. This is really a beautiful bird! The grandparents came over to visit and held her also. So we are off to a really good start! I will keep you posted with our progress. Thanks for providing our little love with such a great, loving start! We couldn't have found better!

Comments : I just wanted to take a minute to let you know how pleased I am with my lil Tiki man.. He has been the most wonderful presence in our home...he
has truly brought us happiness. I also want to thank you for being such a wonderful person. No matter how many times I call with questions, you are there, very patiently, answering any one of them. It started out as a business
transaction, but, I feel you are my friend. You take so much pride in your birds and you can tell by the way you interact with them, it is truly your love and joy that goes in to each and every bird. I am sooo grateful to have found you.
You and my Tiki are a blessing from God. Thank you. Cindy

01/22/2012My son and daughter-in-law recently purchased an albino cockatiel from AJ's Aviary. Allie joined 3 other cockatiels that were already in our home that were not purchaed from AJ's Aviary. All 4 cockatiels had been advertised as being hand fed. Although the other 3 are good birds, there is a vast difference between Allie and the other 3. Allie is very loving and gentle and can be handled by anyone in the household including small children. This led my husband and me to purchase a pineapple conure from AJ's Aviary. We brought Tiki home yeterday. He is already right at home, eating well, becoming quite vocal, and is doing tricks such as hanging upside down from his cage or a finger. He is a very sweet bird who loves to cuddle to go to sleep. He is interacting well with the 4 cockatiels in our home. I feel his wonderful personality is due to the way he was raised by AJ's Aviary until he was ready to go to his new home. Without the attention and special handling while young, I feel he would not be as special as he is already shaping up to be. I would have no problem recommending AJ's Aviary to anyone who is looking for a new addition to their home, and I will not hesitate to seek Ms. Janet again if we decide to add to our collection
